Kevin Garnett Wants to Buy the Minnesota Timberwolves After he Retires

Kevin Garnett is still hooping with the Brooklyn Nets, but when the 38-year-old is ready to retire, he reportedly wants to buy the Minnesota Timberwolves, according to Yahoo! Sports’ Marc J. Spears.

Garnett told Spears he’d love the opportunity to put together an ownership group that would buy the team he once played for.

The Nets are closing in on a deal to bring Carmelo Anthony(notes) to New Jersey. Talks on a three-team trade with the Denver Nuggets and Detroit Pistons are “advancing,” a person with knowledge of the discussions told The Associated Press on Sunday. The trade would reunite Chauncey Billups(notes) and Richard Hamilton(notes) in New Jersey along with Anthony, the person said on condition of anonymity because he wasn’t authorized to publicly discuss the talks.
